A heat advisory is in effect for the Denver Metro area from 11 a.m. this morning to 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures from 95 to 100 degrees and scattered afternoon thunderstorms are expected across Colorado again today, according to the National Weather Service.
Today will be sunny with a high of 96 degrees and a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. in the Denver Metro area. Temperatures tonight will dip to 64 degrees, according to the NWS. Portions of central, east central, south central and southeast Colorado may see dangerously hot temperatures today, especially in El Paso, Pueblo and eastern Fremont counties, according to the NWS. A high of 103 degrees is expected today in the Pueblo area, with temperatures up to 97 degrees in Canon City and 95 in Colorado Springs.
