The ceremonial “wallbreaking” marked the start of construction on the building at 3434 East Livingston Ave. That location will be closed until construction wraps up in 2025.
A temporary location is now open at 3227 East Livingston Ave. and will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The library says the collection size at the temporary branch will be reduced and focused on high-interest titles. The Barnett branch was opened in 1992 and was formerly known as the Livingston branch. The new building will be built on the same site and will double in size to 22,000 square feet.
The library recently opened the Gahanna and Reynoldsburg branches and plans to open new buildings for Linden, Barnett, Canal Winchester and Marion-Franklin branches in 2025.Stay up to date on what's happening in your community with a 24/7 live stream and on demand content from 10TV — available on featuring the best stories, personally curated by members of our staff and delivered via email by 6 a.m., Monday through Friday.
