Good morning, Central Ohio! It is a stormy and wet start to the work week as morning rain showers and thunderstorms produce moderate to heavy rainfall.
TUESDAY: Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy skies. Winds: SW 5-10 MPH. High: 66Be cautious for the morning commute for lingering showers and ponding on the roadways. We will get a brief break from the rain by midday with mostly cloudy skies. Highs will climb into the low 60s. More rain showers and thunderstorms develop by the evening. A few will be capable of producing hail, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall.
A Flood Watch will go into effect by this afternoon and last through Tuesday evening. Areas along and south of I-70 may pick up 2-4 inches of rainfall. Rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible overnight and into Tuesday morning, so make sure you have multiple ways to receive alerts overnight. Another wave of rain showers and thunderstorms is possible by Tuesday night as a cold front swings into the area.
Most of Ohio is under a risk for isolated to numerous thunderstorms by the Storm Prediction Center on Tuesday. All modes will be possible including winds, hail, and an isolated tornado. The active weather pattern isn’t over yet as rain showers continue into Wednesday from the low-pressure system in the Great Lakes. Temperatures will take a hit and only reach the mid-40s.
