THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) is considering the holding of mall voting for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in five places in Metro Manila.

Speaking in a media forum organized by the Manila City Hall Reporters' Association , Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the election in villages would be transferred to nearby malls.'I think this would be more attractive to the voters, as it is convenient, especially for the senior citizens, PWDs, pregnant women and other members from the vulnerable sectors,' Garcia said on Tuesday.The five places in Metro Manila are still being finalized.

The Comelec also warned the aspiring candidates for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections to follow the guidelines provided for in filing their Certificates of Candidacy .The filing of candidacy was moved from July 3 to 7 to Aug. 28 to Sept. 2, 2023.Candidates who were found to be overaged, underaged or unregistered voters will be automatically disqualifed, Garcia said.'Warning to all who will file for SK.
