The Commission on Elections' (Comelec) gun ban in Bacoor City officially takes effect Wednesday, June 28, ahead of a plebiscite to merge 44 barangays into 18 villages in July. | ManilaBulletin
A send-off ceremony for personnel deployed in Comelec checkpoints was held on June 27 at the Bacoor Government Center Lobby in Barangay Bayanan.
The ceremony was led by Bacoor City Election Officer Jastine Marie Dela Cruz, Cavite Police Provincial Office Director Col. Christopher Olazo, and Col. Ronald Jess Alcudia of Philippine Army Task Force Ugnay. The plebiscite, based on City Ordinance No. 275-2023, will be held on July 29, with the plebiscite period lasting until August 5.
Aside from Bacoor checkpoints, the Cavite PPO is also manning Comelec checkpoints in Carmona ahead of its scheduledIn an interview with the media, Olazo said they are appealing to motorists in Bacoor and Carmona to cooperate with checkpoint personnel and to be patient with possible heavy traffic flow in both areas.
