The photo, taken in Halewood, shows a bright flying object followed by a trail of light

A man photographed what he claims to be C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLA, an Oort Cloud comet which hasn't been seen by humans in 80,000 years and won't return for another 80,000. The flying space object was first discovered in 2023 as it made its way towards the inner solar system on a highly elliptical path that had never been recorded in human history before now.

It has since been discovered that the comet managed to survive relatively unscathed and Raj Sharma says he has pictured it above Halewood . He took the image at 7.30pm on Thursday, October 17. The photo shows a bright flying object followed by a trail of light. For the latest news and breaking news visit http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/ .
