Some medicines used to treat urinary symptoms due to an enlarged prostate may reduce the danger of dementia with Lewy bodies, according to a new study

A new study suggests drugs used to treat prostate issues could potentially lower the risk of a common form of dementia.

The American scientists behind the study, which was published in the journal Neurology, were careful to note their findings only indicate an association, not a definitive proof these drugs reduce the risk of DLB. Previous studies have indicated a link between certain medications and Parkinson's disease, which bears similarities to dementia with Lewy bodies.
