Multiple French telecommunication operators have been the targets of vandals, just days after arson attacks on high-speed rail lines.
Telecommunication operators have been sabotaged in what could be a fresh wave of targeted vandalism across France, following arson attacks on the country's high-speed rail network on Friday.Reports in French outlets BFM and Le Parisien said cables in electrical cabinets had been cut in several parts of the country. It is currently unknown how many customers are affected.
'We can confirm that acts of vandalism were committed in six different departments, targeting SFR lines. At this time, we do not know if these acts are connected to the incidents on the SNCF network,' France's National Police told Newsweek.French departments are administrative divisions within France, serving as a key layer of local government, akin to counties or parishes in the U.S.
