Asif Khan, Labour's North Watford county councillor, said: “Some residents had close relatives who had heart conditions or who knew someone who had died as a result of not getting help quickly.Cllr Khan added that the defibrillator, which gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest, will be maintained by the pharmacy.“I thought it was really important to support the request from residents for the defibrillator to be placed here.

“I'm grateful to Courtlands Residents Association for completing the application, PH Taylor Pharmacy for allowing it to be placed on their wall and the local residents for their backing of the initiative."
