A Spanish tourist destination loved by British holidaymakers that would typically be packed by the start of June has been labelled as 'half empty' by concerned business owners. Magaluf is one of Majorca's busiest resorts yet it has seen a drastic drop in numbers compared to typical years.
The concerns were first reported in the local newspaper, Majorca Daily Bulletin, which described the town as 'unusually quiet', claiming that the town was 'half empty, if that'. The article reports that there was some disquiet among business owners about the lack of tourists, while others insisted it was still busy at the weekends.

If the reality is denied and still no measures are taken, we will take to the streets until they act." He added that the group was not 'saying no to tourism' but added: "We have to rethink the tourism model."
