Residents have shared concerns as hundreds of homes could be built on land next to industrial estate and reservoir

. An outline application has been submitted to Ashfield District Council for 250 homes at the Land Off, Hamilton Road, Sutton In Ashfield.

Access would be provided from Hamilton Road with a new fourth exit to the existing roundabout that serves the Amazon warehouse in Summit Park. People in the area have expressed concern and said the new development wouldn't ‘fit in’.“This isn’t really a residential area, you’re surrounded by industrial estates and green fields,” said 42-year-old Hilary Bates.

Janet Birks, 47, who's worked in the area for over ten years said :“I think it’s a lot of homes to build here. For me, I worry about the infrastructure. I think something like this would have a big impact on the roads, hundreds of extra cars on the road.
