Red hot funk-rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers made a return to Northeast Ohio Monday night to play to a sold-out Blossom crowd. When I say 'sold out,' we're talking COMPLETELY full to the rafters, fire-marshal-putting-his-foot-down, no-more-people allowed, lawn-completely-covered sea of people.

Taking the stage a fashionable ten minutes past their set time, bassist Flea came out doing a handstand. Taking their positions on the stage, the quartet tore into an 18-song set, pulling heavily from their older, deeper stuff. Their 2002 effort By the Way yielded four tracks, while their newest album, 2022's Return of the Dream Canteen, provided a mid-set pair of tunes.

Fans of the band's bigger hits may have left disappointed; some of their more well-known tunes were left off the set list completely."Californication" came in towards the end of the show, and the quartet finished out the evening with"Under the Bridge" and"Give It Away.
