A man who came to the assistance of the women also suffered cuts to his knee and hand, alongside bruising during the incident
Police are investigating a report of racially-motivated assaults on three Asian women in east Belfast, which left one of them with a facial injury.
Local policing lead for South and East Belfast, Superintendent Finola Dornan, said: “Incidents like these are unacceptable. The victims and their children have, understandably, been left extremely shaken by their ordeal. We are treating this incident exceptionally seriously. “We will do everything we can as a police service to ensure that everyone, no matter what their background, feels safe in their community, free from the fear of attacks motivated by hate. Our partnership with advocacy groups is central to that, and we are grateful for the additional support they are able to provide for the victims of crime. I would encourage the public to speak to us,” Supt Dornan added.
"The Belfast Asian Women's Academy is actively supporting and advocating for the affected family and urges anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident, to contact the PSNI promptly."
