Connor McNeill from the Glenarm area is the 22nd person to die on Northern Ireland's roads this year.
Police have confirmed a man has died and two children remain in hospital after a crash in Co Antrim on Tuesday.Councillor Beth Adgar of the DUP offered her condolences to the family. She said the deceased was father to the two young children involved.
Chief Superintendent Sam Donaldson, Operational Support Department said: "said that the number of lives lost on our roads is unacceptable by any measure as I've already said 22 so far this year and 71 last year. But they are not just a statistic. " Minister John O’Dowd began by extending his condolences to the families who have lost loved ones on the roads.
He continued: "everyone of us who was sitting around that table today were concentrating our discussions on how we could save lives, on how the roads we have and the responsibilities we have, move towards saving lives."Want a quick and expert briefing on the biggest news stories?
