Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor's career in recent years as star loses rape case. Nikita Hand has been awarded nearly €250,000 (£210,000) in damages after a jury at Dublin's High Court found Mr McGregor assaulted her in a Dublin hotel in 2018.
Nikita Hand, 35, is suing Mr McGregor for rape and another man for assaultConor McGregor has arrived at court with his parents and his partner Dee Devlin, as the jury continues to deliberate its verdict in a rape hearing at Dublin's High Court.
Ms Hand, a 35-year-old mother-of-one who is also known as Nikita Ni Laimhin, is also suing another man, James Lawrence, for assault. Mr McGregor is being accompanied by his family, including his partner, parents, sister and brother-in-law. Justice Owens also reminded the jury that if they reach a verdict to award damages, there are several types of damages to consider including general, which covers pain and suffering to date and into the future, as well as distress and recognition of vindication.
Justice Owens also said that someone attempting to cover up matters, or making statements that are 'patently untrue' are also serious.
