Alastair Clarkson says he expects disgraced former North Melbourne player Tarryn Thomas to receive a lifeline from another club when his AFL suspension expires.

Picture: David CroslingClarkson was cagey when asked if it was too premature for rival clubs to consider signing Thomas only a third of the way through his 18-week suspension for “conduct unbecoming”.
The Kangaroos were allowed to cut ties with Thomas when the AFL handed down its penalty following an integrity unit investigation that found he had engaged “in multiple acts of misconduct”, including threatening a woman via direct message multiple times. Clarkson said he wouldn’t be surprised if Thomas returned to the AFL after his suspension and said he “never doubted” Thomas was capable of undergoing the change required to come back.
