Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper's Reds lose 2-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium
Nottingham Forest were left to rue not making the most of a positive second half as a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City left head coach Steve Cooper with mixed emotions.
City were reduced to 10 men early in the second half when Rodri was sent off for an off-the-ball incident with Morgan Gibbs-White. Cooper’s side did have their opponents on the back foot thereafter, but they were unable to capitalise on some positive moments. “But to let it happen as easily as we did was disappointing. If they were going to do it and score, I wanted it to be with real difficulty. But that wasn’t the case.
“The challenge at half-time was to be clear on the tactics we were then using and keep believing we could get back into the game. The game changes with the red card, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the rhythm of the game has to change too much. You see teams with 10 men continue to play well.
