Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper reflects on Reds' summer transfer window
Head coach Steve Cooper knows the challenge is on to ensure Nottingham Forest’s busy transfer window translates into Premier League progress.
Cooper’s task now is to match that backing from ambitious owner Evangelos Marinakis with results. His team have made a positive start to the season and claimed their first away win in the league since January when they beat Chelsea on Saturday. “We want to grow as a club,” Cooper said, when asked about Forest’s transfer business. “Staying in the league last year gave us an opportunity to do that in every aspect, including the level of the team, the level of player, the strength in depth and the style. You have to be able to do everything in the Premier League to win games.“It’s given us an opportunity to try to do that now. It’s on us.
“We’ve played with a back three. I think that was the right plan against Chelsea. One or two other games, maybe it wasn’t the right plan but we felt we had to.
