Nunavut sampling delvers 64% copper, close to the maximum possible within ore
White Cliff Minerals called a halt on trading this week, promising "extraordinary assay results" from its Rae project in Canada's Nunavut province – and it did not disappoint, with samples approaching the theoretical maximum that copper can reach within ore.Managing director Troy Whittaker said rock chips returned up to 64.02% copper, likely some of the highest-grade copper assays from a representative sample anywhere in the world.
The company's maiden drilling is being planned to test the priority Hulk sediment-hosted copper target, a 16km by 4km anomaly located north of the vision district that is described as "large and green at surface". A single surface sample from Hulk collected recently returned up to 1.65%.Rock chips at Wanda, in the northwest of Rae, returned copper grades between 3.56-9.63% along a 120m-long undrilled basalt flow top, while a single sample from CARL94 returned 39.
