12:59:39The Prince and Princess of Wales are in Slough volunteering with their children.Princes Louis and George, and their sister Princess Charlotte, have been mucking in with volunteers in Slough today.
Sue Brown is one of over 40 volunteers at the Riding for the Disabled centre at Gateon Barn Farm near Leeds. "I started coming here because of the horses," she says,"but now it’s about the riders". The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have paid a visit to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association training centre in Reading, where they were due to take part in a puppy class.
Debbie, Steve, their children Dylan, 13, and Lyla, 11, as well as their children's grandmother, are getting involved. "We thought we should take part and enjoy the day together. Though I'm glad we have a much better day of weather today! The rain on Saturday has certainly helped with the planting."He says it's a"lovely occasion to participate in" - but adds that his wife is"more of a fan of the Royal Family" than he is.
Charles replied:"Ah you've heard about that... we better take you to that, but you are busy with all these other things."Coronation concert viewing figures revealed Graham Smith, chief executive of the Republic campaign group - which calls for the British monarchy to be replaced with an elected head of state - has also called for laws giving police more powers to arrest protesters to be scrapped.
