Rob Donovan's return to Coronation Street has sent shockwaves through the cobbles, with fans fearing he may commit another murder. Despite claiming to have changed, Rob orchestrated a dramatic hostage situation in prison, leaving viewers wondering if he's truly reformed or simply playing a dangerous game.
Coronation Street killer Rob Donovan could be set to murder again, according to fans. Over on the cobbles recently, Rob (Marc Baylis) made his shock return eight years after his last appearance. Fans will recall how Rob is behind bars for the murder of Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) in 2014. However, with Rob’s sister Carla Connor (Alison King) needing a kidney transplant, his son Bobby (Jack Carroll) decided to take matters into his own hands.
He went and visited Rob last week to reveal all - and despite refusing at first, Rob later changed his tune. In Monday’s episode (January 13) Bobby was back in prison to visit his dad - trying to persuade Rob to get tested as a donor. However, things took a dramatic turn when fellow prison Matty (Seamus McGoff) pulled out a knife and grabbed a prison guard, Mandy. Fans will recall Matty is in prison for stabbing, and murdering, his own brother Mason (Luca Toolan). The thug threatened to kill prison guard Mandy - and when Rob stepped in - Matty turned his attention to Bobby and warned he was going to kill him, before grabbing Bobby to holding a knife to his throat. Both Mandy and Rob did what they could to calm Matty down, and as things escalated, Rob pinned Matty against the wall, with staff rushing in to put a stop to Matty. Bobby was overcome with emotion over his dad saving his life, and later on, revealed to Carla that Rob has changed - much to Carla’s horror. However, in a shocking twist, it was later revealed that the whole hostage drama was staged by none other than the mastermind Rob. Now, fans fear that killer Rob will strike again - and it’s not looking good for one cobbles resident. Rushing over to a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: “What is Rob up to? Really thought he had changed.” Someone else wrote: “I can see him killing again tbh. Maybe Bobby as revenge for disowning him?” A third chimed in and agreed: “Yeah Bobby, I can’t see him killing Carla.” Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV
