Coronation Street actress Vicky Myers, who plays the beloved DS Lisa Swain, has been touched by the overwhelming support from fans following her return to the show. Myers expressed her gratitude for the packages and messages she received, stating she was 'blown away' by their kindness and generosity. The actress has become a regular fixture on the cobbles in recent months, with her character Lisa involved in several high-profile storylines, including the investigation of serial killer Stephen Reid and the pursuit of Joel Deering for the grooming of Lauren Bolton.
Coronation Street star Vicky Myers has admitted to being 'blown away' by fans as she had 'no idea' about the amount of support waiting for her following her return from a break from the cobbles. The actress is much-loved among fans of the ITV soap as DS Lisa Swain but it's only in the past year that viewers have seen more of her. The detective sergeant was first seen in 2021 when she led the police investigation into the assaults on Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin which led to the latter's death.
Lisa then faced backlash from Daisy Midgeley after the police didn't stop her stalker Justin Rutherford before he launched a horrific acid attack on her wedding day, also hurting and permanently scarring Ryan Connor. She was then seen hunting down serial killer Stephen Reid back in October 2023, only for him to be ploughed into and killed on the street by Peter Barlow, before she more recently found herself on and off the case of Joel Deering's grooming of Lauren Bolton before his murder. And it was the Lauren and Joel storyline that saw Vicky drafted into playing Lisa on a more permanent basis and now she's a regular character in Weatherfield, with her daughter Betsy, played by Sydney Martin, arriving on screen last year while also now enjoying a romance with cobbles favourite Carla Connor. But the amount of support still appears to be overwhelming for Vicky as she took to social media with a message to fans. She wrote on her Instagram Story: 'I recieved a message to collect some packages from the studio after being away for a few days - I had no idea just how many!' The soap star added: 'THANK YOU SO MUCH! Oh my goodness, I'm completely blown away by your kindness and generosity. Much love, Vicky.' She also shared the post on X, formerly known as Twitter, and fans were quick to respond. @alltooannie said: 'So deserved!! you are SO loved.'
