Katy Cavanagh, who played Julie Carp on Coronation Street, is returning to the soap after a 10-year absence.
The actress, who played Julie Carp between 2008 and 2015, will make her return later this year for her on-screen sister Sue Cleaver’s exit. Katy has spent the last 10 years in Hollywood with her son Noah Jupe, who has starred in films including A Quiet Place. Katy said: “It is exciting to dust off Julie’s quirky wardrobe again and an absolute joy to step back onto the cobbles. Julie is so much fun, I’ve missed her.

The star has penned a script for a psychological thriller described as a cross between The Beach and The Talented Mr Ripley.
