Actress Claire Sweeney has been replaced by Ross Adams in the Channel 5 show The Good Ship Murder due to her filming commitments on Coronation Street. Adams, known for his role in Hollyoaks, will play Colin Smallwood, who takes over as entertainment director from Sweeney's character Beverley Carnell.

Revealing Claire's reaction to him replacing her, Ross said: “Claire has been absolutely amazing, I did worry that I would be stepping on her toes, but she’s been brilliant." Ross described the Corrie star as "warm" and "friendly", revealing the pair have even made plans to meet up for dinner at somepoint in the future.
Ross is best known for playing Scott Drinkwell in Hollyoaks, but left the role last year after a 10-year stint on the Channel 4 soap. He admitted he felt he left Hollyoaks at the "worst time" as he began searching for new work, but thankfully landed his dream role on The Good Ship Murder.
