Steve McDonald's infidelity leads to him missing his daughter Amy's harrowing experience when she encounters her rapist Aaron Sandford's father at a party.
Steve McDonald is consumed by guilt in Coronation Street next week after his actions lead to daughter Amy Barlow enduring a terrifying ordeal. On Wednesday, Amy attends a party only to be met with the shocking sight of Eric Sandford, father of her rapist Aaron Sandford . As viewers of the ITV soap will recall, Amy was at the heart of a significant consent storyline in 2023 when Aaron assaulted her following a night out.
In the aftermath, Aaron denied responsibility, claiming Amy desired sex just as much as him. Eventually, Aaron acknowledged his actions, but he fled Weatherfield with his abusive father Eric, escaping justice for his crime. Next Monday's episode finds Amy's mother Tracy Barlow deeply worried when she's unable to contact her. Steve assumes Amy spent the night at the party. Upon her return home, Amy explains to her parents about the series of unfortunate events: missed calls due to a dead phone, lost car keys, and a night spent wandering the streets. Steve, riddled with guilt and deceit, concocts a story about having an early night. However, viewers are aware of Steve's real activities. He spent the evening with his ex-girlfriend Leanne Battersby, reminiscing over a bottle of wine. Their reunion soon turned romantic as they shared a passionate kiss, leading them to the bedroom for intimacy. Throughout their encounter, Steve's phone remained silent, oblivious to the five missed calls from Amy. Coronation Street will air these scenes starting Monday, February 3rd, at 8pm on ITV1, with early streaming available from 7am on ITVX
