New characters Mick and Lou Michaelis are set to shake things up on Coronation Street, bringing chaos and drama to the beloved soap. Arriving in February, the Michaelis family will move into Mawdsley Street, behind Chesney and Gemma's house, marking the first time the show has extended its drama across the ginnel. Lou, played by Farrel Hegarty, quickly befriends Gemma, while Mick, played by Joe Layton, is revealed to be the mysterious man in the silver van who has been harassing Chesney.
Residents of Weatherfield will need to watch their backs as Coronation Street welcomes the arrival of new ‘nightmare neighbours’ in upcoming scenes.
When Mick, played by Joe Layton, appears later on February 14, the audience will be shocked to realise his true identity - the man with the silver van who has been harassing Chesney, who is none the wiser to who Mick really is, for months. "Lou is definitely an exciting character to play because she’s got good and bad parts to her, she’s a life force and full of beans. She’s a very colourful person who likes to make waves and try to cause chaos. But she also has that strong family loyalty, especially between Mick and Lou, they are thick as thieves and will stick up for each other, even when they probably shouldn’t…"
