THE coronavirus will kill as many as 70,000 more British people if current strategies are not urgently changed a new study has claimed.

As well as calling for the Government to do more, the study also stated a mandatory approach to social distancing and enforced lockdowns will be needed to curb the increase.The report's lead author Dr Amitava Banerjee said: “The UK Government is currently following a partial suppression policy of population-wide social distancing, combined with home isolation of cases, as well as school and university closures, but this is currently not mandatory.
