BORIS JOHNSON'S coronavirus response plan to rapidly build herd immunity would have led to a catastrophe in Britain, a leaked report has found, with experts saying a likely outcome would have been 250,000 deaths.
The Prime Minister has been accused of “wasting precious days on a junk strategy” which saw him resist calls to implement stringent social distancing measures such as those in many European countries and continue down the road of “mitigation”. A shocking report by a team who have been advising the government on the epidemic found that Mr Johnson’s approach would “likely result in hundreds of thousands of deaths and health systems being overwhelmed many times over”.
