BREAKING: London Tube begins mass closures as coronavirus lockdown looms.
The Waterloo & City line is set to shut completely tomorrow, while some night services will be stopped as theIn an overnight announcement, Transport for London urged all commuters to avoid the transport system for all but ‘essential’ travel, with buses also expected to be severely disrupted. There will also be no all-night ‘Night Tube’ service or the all-night ‘Night Overground’ service that currently runs on the East London line, on Fridays and Saturdays, ‘until further notice’, TfL added.
It comes as the capital prepares for a widely-expected ‘lock down’ to be enforced ‘imminently’ – with businesses, transport and public events set to be heavily impacted.The 40 stations – all of which do not interchange with other lines – will be closed ‘until further notice’ and are listed below. And fewer services on the London Overground, TfL Rail, the DLR and London Trams will be available from next week, as the Mayor of London urged the public to stick to official advice.From Monday, buses will run a service similar to Saturdays – but night services will remain.‘People should not be travelling, by any means, unless they really, really have to.
