Coronavirus: Woman fined £660 for refusing to tell police at Newcastle railway station why she was out
Under the new law police can issue £60 on-the-spot fines to anyone leaving their home without reasonable excuse if they refuse a request to go home.
But police suspects can also be arrested and charged with breaking the new laws brought in last month in the wake of the pandemic.
