A couple died as a result of the crash, one immediately and one days later, the coroner's office said.
Barry C. Hirneisen, 77, of the 1300 block of Village Drive, and his spouse James Lawyer, 52, of the same address, died as a result of the crash, the coroner’s report said.
Hirneisen – who died of blunt force injuries – was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 9:05 a.m. Lawyer – whose cause of death is pending an autopsy as of Saturday – was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m. on April 25 at WellSpan York Hospital. The coroner’s report said a box truck struck multiple vehicles, including Hirneisen and Lawyer’s Toyota Yaris, at the intersection of Route 30 and Kenneth Road around 8:30 a.m. on April 16.
Lawyer, who was driving the Yaris, spent nine days at WellSpan York Hospital before he died.
