Coronation Street fans couldn't hide their disgust as Summer Spellman was faced with a life-changing proposition in Monday night's episode . Last week it was revealed over an eventful pub lunch at the Rovers that the 18-year-old was pregnant with boyfriend Aaron Sandford's baby.
In the latest Corrie double bill, Esther was gutted to learn that Summer had planned to have an abortion and offered her money in a bid to change her mind. "With that money you could have real security," she said.At that moment Billy appeared and was horrified to find Esther in their home trying to buy Summer’s baby and ordered her to leave. Esther argued that she was "trying to protect god's sacred gift.
Other viewers pointed out that it reminded them of when Toyah Battersby made a deal to take Eva Price's baby daughter Susie in 2018. When Eva learned she was pregnant she planned on having an abortion, as she was separated from her ex Aidan Connor following his affair with Maria Connor.
