Coronation Street newcomer Sydney Martin has been welcomed with open arms by her new co-stars as it was finally confirmed that she is playing DS Swain's daughter. Betsy Swain was first seen in the ITV soap as Sabrina Adetiba's mate.

However, Sabrina's mate headed over and pointed out Joel was a creep, warning she should steer clear.
The news felt like a victory to Corrie fans who said they 'knew' Betsy would end up being revealed as Swain's daughter after hints of her arrival last month when the detective sergeant bagged the teenager work experience with Carla Connor at Underworld.
