Coronation Street star Colson Smith opens up on 'disheartening' condition as he make conscious decision
Coronation Street star Colson Smith has admitted to being left 'disheartened' after he was told he has a skin condition that should, hopefully, only be temporary. The actor, who plays Craig Tinkle in the ITV soap, opened up about his health on the Sofa Cinema Club podcast he hosts with his co-stars.
Colson said he gets rashes all over his body in different places, without knowing what caused them or why and shared how he had an outbreak on Tuesday, just hours before appearing on the This Morning sofa alongside Jack."At the moment, I’ve got this Chronic idiotic urticaria [Chronic idiopathic urticaria]," the 24-year-old said on the podcast. "I went, ‘Why has it got the middle word?’ She [the GP] said it has no pattern, it happens for no reason. It’s not one thing.
He added that doctors told him it would stop after six months but confessed has made the conscious decision to wear long sleeves since January to cover up his rashes. Colson has played now-Weatherfield cop CraigTinker in Corrie since 2011 and last year, fans got to see him in a whole new light as he took part in The Games. The show, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff, saw 12 celebrities - including Colson - battle it out in a sporting spectacular event across a week of live programmes.
