Late Corrie actor Johnny Briggs' daughter and granddaughter charged with assault on two women
The daughter and granddaughter of late Coronation Street actor Johnny Briggs have been charged with attacking two women as they appeared in court today.
The court heard that the pair, from Cherry Orchard, Stains-upon-Thames, Surrey, also allegedly stole £20k from Ms Gaye amid the attack. Corrie acting legend Johnny died on February 28 2021 aged 85, after a long illness. The episode aired the day after was dedicated to the late star. At the time of his death, his family announced in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our father, Johnny Briggs.“We politely ask for privacy at this time, so that we can quietly grieve as a family and remember the wonderful times we had with him. Thank you."His character suffered Alzheimer’s in his final months and dramatically died in the arms of Ken Barlow on the Cobbles after having a heart attack.
