EXCLUSIVE Congratulations are in order for lufallon and her partner Ryan Ledson 👶
Their relationship blossomed during lockdown after they met on celebrity dating app Raya, and now Lucy Fallon and her boyfriend Ryan Ledson have exclusively shared some very special news.
And now the actress is exclusively sharing another very special milestone with us – she’s 19 weeks pregnant. “We’re really excited,” continues Ryan, 25, who plays for Championship side Preston North End. “I’ve always wanted to be a young dad so I can be active with them.”View gallery However, the couple’s excitement has also come with some anxiety, as Lucy sadly suffered a miscarriage back in March.
"We just assumed everything was going to be fine. Then after a week when they’d done the blood tests and other tests I went back and they said that I had miscarried. It was a really strange feeling. Lucy, who played Bethany Platt on the cobbles for four years, continues, “With the surgery being the day after we found out it was good in a way as it was quite quick so I didn’t have too much time to really think about what was about to happen.
But the couple say the experience made them realise that starting a family together was something they truly wanted and ultimately ended up bringing them closer together. “We’re very fortunate that it happened again for us,” says Lucy. “We weren’t putting pressure on it and I was trying not to put pressure on myself and then it just ended up happening that way for us. It was obviously just meant to happen.”
“The first one was especially emotional,” says Lucy. “We went for an early private scan as we wanted to know straight away if something was wrong so at least we knew. "After the 16-week scan was when I relaxed a bit. After the 12-week scan it was my parents’ anniversary so we told them by giving them a card and putting the scan picture in there.Lucy continues, “Last time we assumed everything would be fine so we told Ryan’s parents and my parents, so this time we made sure everything was OK before we told anyone else, although I did tell my mum straight away.
Despite their worries the excitement has now started to set in for the pair and talk has turned to how to decorate the baby’s nursery in their West Lancashire home, as well as what they might call their little one. “It can cause miscarriages but that’s not the reason I had a miscarriage last time. It’s just mainly towards the end because the baby tends to grow in one side of the womb instead of around all of it and then at the end it can run out of room so you’re at high risk of having an early birth.
Lucy also had to contend with horrendous morning sickness for the first 12 weeks of her pregnancy, as well as a week of “horrible” migraines that followed. Since leaving Corrie back in 2020 Lucy has remained close with many of her former co-stars, including Colson Smith and her on-screen mum Tina O’Brien, who she recently shared her baby news with. The All Star Musicals winner says “never say never” when it comes to making a return to the ITV soap where she made her name, while later this year she will star in ITV drama Tom Jones.
