Coronation Street star Sam Aston and his wife held back tears on the ITV show
Coronation Street star Sam Aston, who plays the role of Chesney Brown on the ITV soap, and his wife became tearful during their appearance on Loose Women on Tuesday as they candidly opened up on their devastating grief of miscarriage.
"It would have been so much harder for me to experience all of that if I hadn't had other people talk to me before," Briony said as she spoke of the outpouring of support the couple received from fans who sent "hundreds and hundreds" of messages. "I thought 'This is the way it's meant to be for me'. It's the way I've had my outlook on life in general. I'd think 'My babies will come to me....at the right time. I guess unless people know what you've been through, then they realise it is more of a sensitive topic and maybe don't bring certain things up."
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Sam said he quickly figured out what was going on and was straight on the phone to their midwife. He said: "It all happened so fast. We’d just had some tea and then I put the telly on to watch some football, but then all of a sudden I heard Briony upstairs.
