Cory Mills claims veterans are not receiving proper guidance on transitioning from active duty into civilian jobs compared to other Border Patrol employees.
Washington Examinerservice members are not receiving the same support and resources compared to regular Border Patrol employees with substance problems or criminal history backgrounds.
Veterans have reported being removed from their civilian positions “after numerous requests for protocol clarifications and training guidance, and without corrective action taken by their supervisors prior to termination,” he wrote. “Unfortunately, many veterans struggle with transitioning from military to civilian life due to significant differences in work, routines, and systems,” Mills said. “The shift in changes can be challenging, and many veterans also contend with PTSD, making it even more difficult to adapt to civilian jobs.”
