YouTuber Ed Chapman tests if an all-inclusive holiday package in Turkey can be more cost-effective than a 'pay as you go' approach by meticulously tracking his spending on facilities and consumption during his stay.
An all-inclusive holiday package could be a tempting offer, yet figuring out if it's more cost-effective compared to a "pay as you go" approach is not straightforward.
Ed's total expense reached £965 for his TUI getaway. In his calculations, he suggested: "We need to knock off about £165 for the return flights to Turkey with checked luggage and then maybe like another £500 for five nights in the hotel. That leaves us with roughly £300 paid for the 'all inclusiveness'." Embarking on his gastronomic and leisure quest, his first choices included a sandwich and the opening of many strawberry daiquiris.
He noted an interesting aspect of the hotel's laid-back approach: "One thing I do like about this hotel is that there's no wristbands or anything like that. Sometimes, in these places, you get really annoying wristbands that are fiddly and scratchy, but there's nothing like that here. They don't even ask your name at breakfast or at dinner or anything, so you could in theory just waltz in .
Temperatures at a perfect 27C, brief thunderstorm aside, allowed him to fully make use of the swimming and slide amenities.
