Rory McIlroy admitted he was relieved to escape the 18th hole with a par after an incredible up-and-down kept his Open hopes in tact.with dreams of ending his nine-year major drought at the place he won in 2014.
His fist pump after holing the putt said it allBut McIlroy's hopes threatened to unravel after a sloppy round, including a missed putt from two feet, left him two-over par on the 14th tee.sent his second shot up against the lip of a greenside bunker on the par-five 18th, needing two shots to escape it after the first came back to his feet.
