A serious of potential outcomes have been drawn up
A senior Nottinghamshire councillor has reaffirmed 'no sites will be closed unless and until a better alternative has been opened'. Instead, Councillor Neil Clarke, cabinet member for transport and environment on the county council, said the authority's priority was to "make sure that there is an improvement to the service" being offered to residents.
A recent report, released following a Freedom of Information request , had revealed that one of the risks to the future of Nottinghamshire tips is people from neighbouring counties dumping their rubbish here. The site off Brunel Drive is currently able to recycle 84 percent of material from the site, and also has a paint reuse station as part of the Community Repaint Scheme. It has been found that many recycling sites across Nottinghamshire have not been fit for purpose, with sites being too small and there being traffic implications due to queues of vehicles.
