has launched a series of new videos showcasing some hidden gems and beautiful walks in the area, calling them “a great source of inspiration for anyone looking for things to do locally over the summer holidays.”
Funded by the UK Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the project aims to encourage 'pride in place' amongst residents. The council has teamed up with local walking expert Gillian Craig, who presents the videos and recommends a range of local beauty spots to explore within East Renfrewshire. The videos also highlight the great selection of local businesses that can be found nearby each walk, and are complemented by a dedicated web page with route maps.Speaking in a video introducing the project, Gillian said: “I love exploring new walking routes close to home.
“For me, there’s nothing better than heading out for a walk. Not only can walking help keep us fit, being surrounded by nature can help clear your mind and make you feel calm.”clips include the Levern Walkway, Harelaw Dam, Greenbank Garden, Busby Glen, Eaglesham and Fereneze Braes. They join an existing series of videos covering Dams to Darnley, Whitelee Windfarm, Rouken Glen, the Craigie and the Neilston Pad.
“We're really spoiled for choice with a great selection of local shops and cafes to grab a bite to eat when you are out and about.”Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
