Opposition leaders hit out after ECHO wins fight to identify councillors taken to court over non-payment of council tax
Two Liverpool City Councillors who were summoned to court over the non-payment of council tax 'may need to consider their positions' after the ECHO won a battle to reveal their identities.

The decision from the ICO states that the council must now take these steps to disclose the information within 35 calendar days of the date of the decision notice. He said: "There was never any doubt that the ICO would rule that the information about the two councillors had to be released. Transparency has to be a central and abiding principle of local government.
