More funding needs to come from the Welsh Government to allow Powys planners to deal with ongoing monitoring work that comes with Developments of National Significance, a senior councillor has said.
Hendy Wind Farm - near Llandrindod Wells has been given the go ahead by a Welsh Government minister.
Powys council feed into the process by producing a Local Impact Report for which they are paid a fee of £7,500 if it is produced on time. The question in relation to the Hendy windfarm near Llandegley which was rejected by the council but approved by the Welsh Government rural affairs minister in 2018 following an appeal – a further legal challenge against the proposal also failed.
She explained that one of the conditions for Hendy windfarm is that it should have produced a “secure electricity export plan.”
