'I wasn't going to stand by and watch someone intimidate anyone on the streets of Belfast'

The incident took place at around 1.50pm when the man was seen making a Nazi salute towards a woman on Great Victoria Street.

Speaking to Belfast Live, the councillors said they were appalled to witness the incident and that it showed just some of the abuse certain communities face living in Northern Ireland. "It was shocking to see someone act like this in broad daylight in the middle of a busy city centre street. They seemed to have no concern for the people around them to shout something like that so comfortably and I can't imagine what others in the area or those visiting our city must think being welcomed with that.
