A former Cambridge student has been pictured after a Channel 4 Countdown contestant was charged after allegedly attacking the rival at a tournament.
John Cowen, who appeared on the show, was charged by Lancashire Police after "stabbing" a former contestant at an event held in Blackpool. The 30-year-old was arrested and taken into custody while a man in his twenties was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Thomas from Bingley, West Yorkshire, appeared on the Channel 4 show back in June 2015 while studying for his A-Levels and bagged an impressive 923 points after winning eight times. In a statement shared with the Mirror, a spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called at 11:35am on 14th September 2024 to a report of an assault on Hornby Road in Blackpool. Officers attended, and a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and possession of a knife / bladed article.
