Countryfile has annoyed BBC One viewers tonight
Countryfile has been hit with complaints from angry fans over what they called 'political point scoring' after an odd segment on tonight's episode all about dentistry.
Specifically, Countryfile went to Devon and Cornwall to explore how a shortage of NHS dentists is causing problems for locals who are forced to miss out on key dental work or stump up to go private. One woman, Andrea, runs the Toothless In England Campaign in Cornwall, said: "There's a local chap I know of who's got two children who have never been to the dentist. The elder one is 9, the younger one is about 7. Never seen a dentist.
Viewers, though, were baffled by the change of direction for the programme and asked what it has to do with the countryside. @dollynoocat said: "not sure what the dentistry has to do with the countryside more countrywide #countryfile "
