Couple accidentally killed by carbon monoxide poisoning after reversing their car into a protective plastic bag
A CAR enthusiast and his partner died after being overcome with fumes when he reversed his Mercedes into a huge plastic bag to protect it for winter, a court heard.
He had recently acquired a Mercedes from the United States and opted to store the vehicle in a large plastic bag to protect it during the winter months. Mrs Workman entered the bag to help him but was also affected, although she managed to crawl back out and call emergency services. An investigation carried out by the ambulance service found that the operator's decision had been "accepted as reasonable".
