A couple seeking a detached four-bedroom property in Perth and Kinross, complete with an office and scenic views, faced a dilemma on the latest episode of 'Escape to the Country.' While Jules Hudson presented several potential homes, one particularly caught their eye. However, the property's extensive renovation needs left them uncertain.

On the latest episode of Escape to the Country, host Jules Hudson provided a candid warning to viewers about a particular house, acknowledging one buyer's potential difficulties with it. In Thursday's episode of the popular BBC series, Jules assisted a couple in their search for the perfect rural home in Perth and Kinross, a move intended for themselves and their two young sons, four-year-old Cooper and two-year-old Woody.

Jess, from Bolton, and her Aberdeen-born husband Graham, recently made a significant life change. Six months prior, they sold their house on the outskirts of Warrington in Cheshire and moved to a rented property in Pitlochry. With a budget of £350,000, the couple were looking for a detached four-bedroom property. A priority for them was having a dedicated office space to manage their outdoor furniture business and, ideally, at least a quarter acre of land with either mountainous or forest views. Jess expressed their desire for relocation: 'We want to have the best life ever for our children, for ourselves, our business and for our hobbies.' Graham added his aspirations: 'We really want the opportunity just to be able to nip up and take ourselves to the mountains in the winter. We want to be surrounded by nature so we can do some walking and bird-watching.' Jules went above and beyond, arranging several potential homes for viewing, with one particular property expected to greatly interest the couple, according to Wales Online. The detached house, situated on the outskirts of Alyth, was listed for £250,000, boasting a dual three-bedroom flat layout with the potential to convert into a single family home. It featured ample garden space and picturesque rural views. However, he quickly pointed out that it required significantly more renovation than initially anticipated, admitting: 'There is a catch and the catch is this is a totally renovation project.' He elaborated: 'Whether Jess and Graham keep the two properties separate, one for them and one for mum, or merge them into one but they'd need to knock it about a bit to make it work for their growing family. The transformation will require a considerable amount of creativity and investment. And yet, another silver lining is that this happens to be the cheapest property showcased this week.' While inspecting the residence, Jess expressed reservations about the scale of the undertaking, stating: 'I feel like I'm struggling to see the finished result. There are just a lot of houses and it is a nice house to look at but it's whether or not we can take on such a big project right now.' Ultimately, the couple decided against making an offer on any of the properties presented. Escape to the Country airs weekdays from 3pm on BBC One and iPlayer
