Councillor Roger Bailey sponsored a petition signed by over 100 people against the installation of the screen. Councillor Jackie Gardiner echoed those concerns at the meeting, adding: “Many of us have been to other parts of the country and even parts of the world where we see an absolute preponderance of adverts on the side of the road.A councillor told the meeting that the area was already “very built up” and advertising would not harm the natural environment.
